Recruiting

Some squads and guilds are just looking for a bigger body count. What we're looking for is people who fit right in with the crew we have. Our guys are friendly, helpful, funny as hell and always ready to kick butt, then say "gga!".

Some squads/guilds are only looking for the best players. We pride ourselves in recruiting the best people, and making them into the best players. We will show you how to win.

The way we recruit is a bit different from a lot of other squads/guilds. What we do is invite people we meet in game to hang out with us on our Ventrilo server, and check out the web site and forums. That way we can get to know them better, and they can find out what we're all about.

If it turns out that a particular player ends up hanging out with us for a while, fits right in, and meets our join requirements, we may invite them to put on the NBK tag.

Membership

There are two types of membership in NBK. The first is guild membership. This type of membership is for people who want to join NBK to play a specific game only.

The other is full membership, which we call Tru NBK.  As Tru NBK, you would play any of our official games that you play as an NBK member, and not as a member of another squad or guild.  Tru NBK have access to our members only forums, get rank and other perks.

If you have any membership questions, just ask us on Vent or shoot us an email. We'd be happy to clear things up.

Join Requirements

To be considered for membership in NBK, applicants must..

  • be 18 or older. We're a mature squad, and sometimes our discussions are a bit... you know... mature.

  • supply a valid email address. We gotta be able to get ahold of our guys and gals.

  • have Ventrilo for voice communication. We consider voice comms essential for raiding and matches.

Squad participation

To be considered an active member of the squad, it's important that our members participate. We always say that real life comes first. But some participation is required to be considered active.

  • Members are required to have an active e-mail account.

  • It's important that you check and post in the forums regularly, to be considered active.

  • Members that go inactive are not kicked out of the squad. We simply take them off the active roster until they turn up again.

Rank and Promotions

NBK uses the Marine Corps rank structure, to recognize and reward commitment to the team, time served and going above and beyond the call of duty.

  • Usually, new members start off with the rank of Private

  • Some new members may be given a higher rank, depending on circumstances (example: high ranking members of allied squads).

  • Advancement in rank is based on timed served, participation in the squad on and off the field, and team play. The more active you are in the squad, and the more you contribute, the faster you will advance in rank.

  • Inactive members do not advance in rank. You will be considered inactive if nobody else sees or hears from you for an extended period of time.

  • Inactive members will be considered active again once they start participating regularly.

  • It is the responsibility of the officers to assign rank and promotions.
